Principal’s Update
Dear families,
I hope you have all have a great holiday break. It has been fantastic to see our students settling in already for Term 4.
This term we welcome Taneale Derschow, Aboriginal Islander Education Officer (M-F) and Abigail Burbridge, Student Wellbeing Officer (W/Th). Both Abigail and Taneale are available to support and consult with families and can be found at the Mind and Connection Space (MaCS) with Ms Candeloro. More about Taneale, can be found ‘In the Spotlight’ below.
This term teachers are consolidating teaching and assessing student progress ready for reports. These will be sent out in Week 10 of this term. As you may have noticed, there have been some earthworks occurring outside of Rm 16/17/18/19. These works will support a new transportable classroom for us in 2024. I also anticipate another one coming in the Christmas holiday break.
Our amazing Year 6’s will celebrate Graduation on the 12th of December 2023, with more information to come out to families. Please save the date for our end of term assembly celebration on Wednesday the 13th December 2023 run by rooms ES1, 15. This will be a special assembly announcing our 2024 student leaders and celebrating our Year 6 students.
Kind regards,
Natasha Naylor
Principal

In the Spotlight ……..
I'm a Yamatji/Banjima/Noongar woman. I grew up in Port Hedland and around the Pilbara area. I have a background in Indigenous Employment services. I've created and co-facilitated workshops/programs, provided mentoring and support to individuals and their families. I love Arts and crafts, being outdoors, getting involved in community events and creating/implementing programs designed to boost confidence while providing a safe and fun learning environment. Having a son with special needs has fuelled my passion to learn more and support our Indigenous and non-Indigenous children as well as their families.
Kind regards,
Taneale Derschow
